This nature style aquascape makes use of colorful stem plants to brighten up the aquascape. However, they require more skill & time to trim and maintain than say bushes of Java fern. In this aquascape the shadows cast by the wood contrasts well with the lighted background. Such backgrounds can be created through the use of backlights (DIY or commercially available ones). Moss is also used as a foreground filler in this aquascape. Moss is shade tolerant and can be grown well on hardscape without needing to be planted into substrate, this gives it very flexible usage in a tank.ADA Nature Style 8
